How did Papuan oud enter the Gulf majalis?

Papuan oud reached the Gulf market later than names that had established themselves decades before it: Cambodian with its fruity sweetness and Indian with its classic depth were the standard of majalis for a long time, and even within Indonesia, Kalimantan and Sumatra preceded it to fame for their nearness to the trade routes.
