Indonesian oud oil is being sourced
The line is a natural extension of the wood trade we master: we know the wood before the distillate, and distilling and aging are a craft that is not rushed. Contact us to register your interest, and until then the distillation raw is present in the available manufacturing oud collection.
Register your interest in the oilA guide to the alternatives available now
Until the first vials arrive, these are the nearest roads to the world of the oil from our present stock.
Make it yourself: the distillation wood
The manufacturing oud collection serves the distillers today in fact: woods of declared grades fit for the still, and they are the very ones our oil will begin from.
Manufacturing oud →Our natural wood
The origin before the essence: the natural oud collection with its pieces sorted one by one, and from it you know the school the distillate will come out of.
Natural oud →Explore the origins
The Indonesian oud collection gathers the archipelago's islands and their schools: the origin that pleases you as wood will please you as a distillate, mostly.
Indonesian oud →Begin with the wood samples
The sample kits build your palate from what is available today: your nose's reference, by which you will compare the oil when it arrives.
Sample kits →Why Oud Treasure?
We know the wood before the distillate
A full chain from the harvester to the vial: the oud harvesters who supply our collections today are themselves the source of the distillation wood tomorrow, so our oil will not begin from an unknown middleman but from a raw whose story we know.
A rarity of transparency in the oil market
A declared commitment before the first drop: the source wood, its origin, its grade, the method of distillation, and the aging age, declared with every batch. The transparency you grew used to in our wood moves to the vial.
A grading scale declared in advance
We will not invent vague grades for the oil: the very wood classification methodology extends to it with declared criteria before the sale, so you know exactly what you pay for.
A sample before any commitment
Every oil batch will come with a small trial vial from the very displayed batch: we will not ask you for a tola of an oil that has not touched your skin.
A personal notice on availability
Those registered on the interest list are notified before the general announcement and have the priority of choice, and the first distillation batches are small by their nature.
The commitment to purity
A pure distillate with no extension and no hidden blending: and if we display a blend one day, it will carry its name and its components frankly, not a claimed purity at a pure's price.
What distinguishes the Indonesian oil?
In the world perfume market, the Indonesian oils carry a personality the perfumers know: the Bornean, from Kalimantan's woods, is described with a warm woody depth of a sweet base that makes it an ideal base for orientals, and the Papuan is described with a higher boldness and an animalic greenness that splits the noses between a lover and a reserved one. We relay this by the known market lore and with our usual caveat: what we have not distilled ourselves we do not testify to, and when our batches come out we will publish the testimony of our own experience here, not a citation from catalogues.
And the Indonesian's station on the world oil map is the station of the rising peer: the traditional Indian, at its head the Assami, carries the historical crown and its price with it, and the Cambodian is the school of the widespread fruity sweetness, while the Indonesian archipelago offered the market a Bornean depth and a Papuan power at prices that were historically gentler, so it became the choice of the knowers who buy the scent, not the name. And in an honest brief: the quality variance across the whole oil market is large, and the origin alone does not guarantee a vial, for the source wood and the distillation method are the judge.
And here is our declared commitment that we see as the most useful thing on this page: we will declare with every oil batch its source wood, its origin, its grade on our scale, the method of its distillation, and the age of its aging. This transparency is truly rare in the oil market, for most vials are sold by poetic names with no lineage, and we come from a wood trade whose substance is documentation and see no reason to relinquish it upon the shift from the piece to the drop.
What will be available? The line's plan frankly
This is a declared plan, not a time promise: we display our direction with transparency and execute it without haste, and the registered are notified first of what has actually been completed.
An oil from classified woods
Batches distilled from woods that know their grade on our declared scale in the natural oud collection: the vial's lineage is written before you open it.
The grade scale →Different agings
We plan to display varied aging ages declared item by item, for the fresh distillate and the years-aged are two different experiences and two different prices.
Register your interest →Tola and quarter-tola vials
The traditional tola around 12 ml for the acquirer, and the quarter-tola a reasonable entrance to the trial before the commitment: vials that respect that the oil is bought by the drop.
Register your interest →Samples from every batch
Small trial vials from the very displayed batches, a declared commitment not to sell you a perfume that has not touched your skin.
Request samples →Quality and grading: the wood's methodology extends to the distillate
We declare it before the first batch is distilled: we will not invent vague grades for the oil, but extend to it the wood methodology you know. Three criteria declared in advance make each vial's grade: the source wood and its grade on our declared scale, for the distillate is the child of its raw and whoever controls the raw controls the distillate; then the distillation method, water or steam and the soaking duration, for it makes a real difference in the scent's cleanliness and depth; then the aging age, for the months and years in the suitable vessel refine the sharpness and deepen the base. The three of them you will read in every batch's statement as you read today the grade of every wood piece in the premium oud collection and its sisters.
Who awaits the Indonesian oil?
The lover of the pure oil
Whoever places the drop on the wrist and lives its development for hours: for you the declared commitment to purity and each vial's lineage written, so register your priority from the first batch.
Reserve your priority →The oriental-perfume store
An oil of documented lineage and a supply line from the source is a real shelf advantage: register your need early through the wholesale channels already existing in our wood.
Wholesale channels →The professional blender
An oriental base from an oil of known wood and distillation method: the declared batch data makes repeating the formula possible, and this is what the serious compounder asks for.
Register your quantities →The rarities' acquirer
Small first batches of a new line with a full lineage: vials whose story is told from the forest to the aging, and whose station in the collector's collection is known.
Register your interest →How do you prepare for the oil's arrival?
One message through the contact page enrolls you in the interest list: you are notified before the general announcement and have the priority of choice from first batches that will be small by their nature.
Try the archipelago's origins as wood from Kalimantan and Papua: the origin that pleases you as wood will please you as a distillate mostly, for the smoke's palate points to the drop's palate.
Begin with the small trial vial from the very displayed batch however great your enthusiasm, and order it through the sample request page: a drop on the wrist and a full day of development before any decision.
If the skin confirmed what the statement promised, then the tola or its quarter with a written lineage: source wood, grade, distillation method, and aging age, all of which you know before you pay.
The source and origin: from the forest to the vial
Our oil chain is an extension of the wood chain we work with today: the raw begins from the oud harvesters in the archipelago's forests, and they themselves are who supply our present collections, then it is sorted at the preparation centers a sorting that designates the distillation grades, for not every wood is fit for the still nor is all that is fit for the still equal, then the distillation, then the aging in suitable vessels for months that refine the sharpness, then the packing in tight vials that preserve the distillate from the air and the light.
And where will we distill? We will declare it with full transparency at the announcement, not before it: the distillation options between labs near the source and the preparation labs are under evaluation, and we will not write here what has not settled. What has actually settled is the first end of the chain, the documented wood from our existing network, and it is the end at which most of the market's oil fails. Read our whole method on the about us page.

An entrance to the world of the oil
Oud oil, or the oily oud as some perfumers call it, is the aromatic oil extracted from the resinous oud wood by distillation. Literally: the wood is ground and soaked in water for days, then distilled by water by boiling the ground with the water in the still, or by steam by passing the vapor through it, so the oil rises with the vapor then is separated from it after condensation. And in an honest brief: the distillation yield is tiny, kilograms of wood give grams of oil, and here is the secret of its price and the secret of the temptation to adulterate it as well. The distillate after that is not the end of the craft: the aging refines it, and the experience distinguishes between a clean batch and another tainted by the still's smell.
How do you read the oil's quality?
General honest marks the craft's people trade, not decisive rules: the viscosity first, for the good oil is heavy of movement in the vial and its extension with carrier oils thins it; then the development on the skin, for the original drop lives for hours during which it shifts from an opening to a heart to a base, while the poor freezes on a single note; then the persistence, for the trace's staying a day on the skin and days on the cloth is a mark of health. And above all of that: the direct comparison to a trusted reference shortens what words do not, and this is why we insist on the samples.
The Indonesian oil in the perfume composition
With the blenders, the Indonesian oil is an oriental base of the first class: the Bornean's warm woody depth anchors the formula and prolongs its persistence without snatching its front, and the Papuan's boldness grants the personality to whoever wanted it present, not background. And because the base carries the whole formula, the professionals stress knowing the lineage of their oil: a source wood and a fixed distillation method make repeating the formula possible, and this is precisely what our transparency commitment provides.
Why do we begin with the wood before the oil?
Our philosophy simply: whoever controls the raw controls the distillate. Most of the market's oil problems do not begin in the still but before it, a wood of unknown source or a grade lower than the seller claims, so we built the hard end first: years in sorting the Indonesian wood and documenting and grading it, and a network of harvesters existing from Kalimantan to Papua. The manufacturing oud page serves the distillers today in fact with a documented raw, and the oil line is the logical next step: the wood the distillers buy from us we will distill with a transparency greater than the market grew used to.
Frequently asked questions of the Indonesian oud oil
When will the Indonesian oud oil be available in the store?
Honestly: we do not have a confirmed date to declare, and we will not promise a date we do not guarantee. The oil line is a natural extension of the wood trade we master, but distilling and aging are a craft that is not rushed, and we prefer an honest delay over a hasty vial. Register your interest through the contact page and we will notify you ourselves the moment the first batch is approved.
From which wood will you distill the oil?
From the very Indonesian woods you know in our collections: woods classified on our declared grade scale, and we will declare with every oil batch its source wood, its origin, and its grade. This is our central commitment: you will not buy from us a vial of unknown lineage, for whoever knows our wood knows what enters the still.
How many milliliters are in a tola?
The tola is the traditional unit of measure for oud oil, and equals around 12 ml (and is sometimes traded between 11.6 and 12 ml by custom). We plan for tola and quarter-tola vials, for the quarter is a reasonable entrance to the trial before the commitment to a full vial.
What is the difference between oud oil and Western oud perfumes?
Oud oil is the pure distillation essence from the oud wood, placed pure on the skin with no alcohol and living on it for long hours during which it develops. As for the Western perfumes, they are alcoholic compositions in which the oud enters as a note among notes, and many of them use synthetic substitutes for the oud to begin with. The first is a living raw material, and the second a ready composition.
Will the oil be pure or blended?
Our declared commitment: the pure. And if we display a declared blend one day, it will carry its name frankly and its components with it, not an extended oil sold at a pure's price. The transparency we apply in the wood, a declared grade and a named origin, moves to the vial letter by letter.
How do I test an original oil?
General honest marks, not a decisive rule: the original oil is viscous, heavy of movement in the vial, its scent develops on the skin for hours so no single note stays frozen, and its persistence extends to a day or more on the cloth. The one extended with carrier oils is lighter of movement, shorter of life, and poorer of development. And the decisive test always: the direct comparison to a trusted reference.
What is the expected price?
We do not declare figures for an oil that has not been distilled, for the promise of a price before knowing the source wood and the distillation method and the yield is marketing, not honesty. What we commit to: a price that reflects the batch's real wood and its declared distillation cost, and those registered on the interest list know the prices in full the first thing they are declared.
Can I register a pre-order on the oil?
Yes through the contact page: mention your interest in the Indonesian oud oil specifically, and what your nose prefers of our wood origins if you have tried them, and we will enroll you in the interest list. Upon the first batch's approval we contact you before the general announcement, and you have the priority of choice from a quantity that will be limited by its nature.
Will samples of the oil be available?
Yes, and this is a commitment declared in advance: we will not ask you for a full tola of an oil that has not touched your skin. We will provide small trial vials from the very displayed batch, not a picked promotional sample, and until then you build your palate from the wood samples available today.
For the blenders and perfumers: will quantities be available?
We plan for that, for our wholesale channels are already existing in the wood and extend naturally to the oil. But the first distillation batches are small by their nature, so register your expected need early through the request-quotation page and we will tell you realistically what can be designated for the compounding and the blending.
Does aging the oil actually improve it?
Mostly yes, and this is among the craft's known secrets: the fresh-distilled oil carries a sharpness resembling smoke, and aging it for months or years in suitable vessels refines it, deepens the base, and rounds the scent. This is why you will read in our batches' statements the aging age as a declared item, for it is a real part of the vial's value.
How do I get a notice the moment it is available?
Register your interest through the contact page with your email or your number, and we will message you directly upon the first oil batch's approval and before the general announcement. No random mailing lists: one message on the actual availability, with the source wood, the distillation method, the aging, and the prices in full.
Why a page for an oil that is not available?
The transparency of the expansion map: we sell the Indonesian oud wood today and the oil line is its declared extension, so we prefer that you know our direction and where we have reached in it rather than be surprised by a vial with no context. And it lets you reserve your priority early in a line whose first batches will be small, and for whoever distills by himself the distillation wood is available now.
